Starting the Game:

  • Create Your Team: You’ll start with a team that’s already established, but you'll need to manage and improve it. You control the head coach role, responsible for making decisions on both offense and defense.

  • Choose a Difficulty: Pick the difficulty based on your skill level. New players should start on easier levels.

2. Gameplay:

A. Team Management:

  • Draft & Trade Players: You can draft new players and trade existing ones to improve your team’s roster. You want to balance positions like quarterback, running back, wide receiver, etc.

  • Upgrade Your Team: Train your players to improve their stats and manage your team’s morale.

  • Manage Player Fatigue: Be mindful of player injuries and stamina. If a player is too fatigued, their performance may drop.

B. On-Field Gameplay:

  • Play Calling: You choose plays for both offense and defense. These include runs, passes, and different defensive formations.

  • Offensive Control:

    • Quarterback: When you're on offense, you’ll control the quarterback. You pass the ball by tapping or clicking to throw it to receivers, or you can run the ball if the defense is too tight.

    • Passing: Tap to throw the ball. Hold the tap to control the throw’s distance and direction.

    • Running: Use the on-screen controls to run with the quarterback or a running back.

  • Defensive Control:

    • Defense: The game will handle the defense automatically, but you can adjust your defense strategy by selecting different formations.

3. Key Controls:

On Offense (Quarterback):

  • Tap: To throw a pass to a receiver. The longer you hold, the farther the pass will go.

  • Swipe or Drag: To move around the field, dodge defenders, or make a run.

  • Receiver: Watch your receiver’s route and time your throws to hit them as they move.

On Defense:

  • Auto Defense: You don't control individual defensive players directly. Instead, you can switch between different defensive formations (such as man-to-man or zone defense).

  • Strategic Decisions: Choose defensive plays that cover the most likely threats from the opposing team’s offense.

4. Scoring:

  • Touchdowns (TDs): The primary way to score in Retro Bowl is by getting the ball into the opposing team’s end zone for a touchdown.

  • Field Goals: You can also score with field goals if you're close enough to the goal line but not in a position for a touchdown.

5. Season Progression:

  • Regular Season: The game is divided into seasons, and each season is made up of games against different teams. Winning games earns you points to upgrade your players and unlock special rewards.

  • Playoffs: After the regular season, you’ll head into the playoffs, where you'll need to win in a series of elimination rounds to reach the Retro Bowl Championship.

  • Retro Bowl Victory: Your ultimate goal is to lead your team to victory in the Retro Bowl Championship.

Tips for Success:

  1. Balance Team Needs: Don’t just focus on one position (e.g., always improving the quarterback). Keep a balanced team with strong players in offense, defense, and special teams.

  2. Play Calling Strategy: Choose the best offensive play depending on the situation—don’t rely on just one play type.

  3. Practice Your Passing: Timing and precision are important when passing the ball. Learn to lead your receiver and make smart throws.

  4. Watch Fatigue Levels: Make sure your players are well-rested before important games to ensure peak performance.

  5. Manage Resources: You’ll have limited opportunities to improve players and make trades. Spend your resources wisely.
